I focused on parts that seemed like they would be most likely to wear out (springs), or break (extractor/ejector) or get lost/damaged during cleaning, (various pins, screws, more small springs, etc.). One of my favorite SCAR features is how easily you can tune the gas system with swapping out the different sized OEM gas control screws. It’s also worth getting some extra gas control screws. Knowing what I know now if I were just starting off I would probably get a firing pin, bolt assembly, bolt cam pin, return spring, and call it good for a while. Since I started collecting spare parts those threads from Battlefield Las Vegas popped up and we all got to see just how durable the SCARs can be with very high round counts. Leading up to the last election I wanted to make sure I had everything to independently keep my SCARs running for a very long time, even though I have never had a single part break or wear out to date.
